The
capital of Republic of Ireland, the Emerald Isle, is Dublin, in Irish means
black pond because the city settled next to the oldest known pond in Europe.

It was
established as the capital of the country, replacing Hill of Tara, when he
concluded the Norman invasion. The political center was established in Dublin
